Before January — something you need to hear.
Before January gets here, I want to give you a gentle nudge. Especially if you've spent this month doing all the things so everyone else can have their Hallmark Christmas. A few years ago, I was in that same place. I shopped, wrapped, cooked, decorated; because I wanted the magic to feel effortless for everyone else. And then, when I finally sat down that evening, I felt this little tug inside:
Why do I feel like everything depends on me?
Not out of pressure… but pride.
I wanted to be the one who held Christmas together.
But the truth is, people love helping - if we'll let them. Psychologist Israa Nasir calls this “toxic productivity.”
It shows up when you feel: guilty resting, responsible for everything, terrified of falling behind, unable to sit still without anxiety.
If that hits home, you're not alone. Midlife women are experts at “doing”… but often struggle with “being.”
“We've spent so long being strong and 'fine' that we don't even notice we're exhausted. Rest isn't weakness—it's wisdom.”
I heard this on Tamsen Fadel's podcast, titled, “Why You Always Feel Behind and the Simple Tools That Will Free You.” It's a great listen. Take a walk today. Tune in and get ideas on how to slow down without the guilt.
SOME COACHING INSIGHT FOR YOU
This is already my New Year's resolution: to stop sprinting past my own life.
It's also how I support the women in my programs. We don't chase perfection - we build habits that give you breathing room, balance, and a healthier body without burnout. If you're joining my January group, I'll walk right beside you as you practice choosing your life again.
BEFORE JAN. 2026, HERE'S YOUR REMINDER:
You don't need to earn rest.
You don't need to carry everything alone.
Your value isn't measured by how much you produce.
You matter - right now, exactly as you are.
And this is your moment to choose a healthier way forward.
